Tomorrow (Saturday, October 9, 2015), Choir of the Sound will be performing at Saint Mark’s Cathedral as part of the Greater Seattle Choral Consortium’s Seattle Sings festival. Thirty-four choirs will be performing over the three-day event, which started Thursday evening, continues tonight, and concludes all day tomorrow. In addition to our set, we will be joined by Rainier Chorale and Cantabile of Skagit Valley to perform “A Lonely Land,” by local composer and conductor Giselle Wyers. Wyers is the Donald E. Petersen Endowed Professor of Choral Music at the University of Washington, where she directs the University Chorale. This is the second piece of hers that we have performed, having previously sung “I Go Among Trees” in 2010. Not only do we have the joy of singing Wyers’s work, but she will also be conducting the mass choir and offering her insights. Come support us and Seattle choral singers by attending this FREE festival!
